Nest Instructress

Shannon Borek

Shannon Borek a.k.a. "Shay Shay"

I have belonged to the Polish Falcons of America organ- ization since 1989 and am a member of Nest 725 in Milwaukee, WI. I started out as a youth participant in the gymnastics class when I was 10 years old. I became an Instructor when I was 20 years old, and have been instructing ever since.

I was the first person in my family to become a member; since then my whole family have become members, including my niece and three nephews. I am very honored and proud of my Polish heritage and enjoy when I get the opportunity to share it with others. I look at the members of the organ- ization as "family".

Achievements:
In 2002 I received the Falcon of The Year award. In 1999 I received my bronze service star and in 2004 I received my silver service star.Shannon not in costume

Polish Name Days

Yesterday 2012-05-18 : Eryka Feliksa Today 2012-05-19 : Piotra Iwa Tomorrow 2012-05-20 : Aleksandra Bazylego ........In Poland, name days (Polish: imieniny) are widely celebrated, & most calendars contain the names celebrated each day. Celebrations in Poland traditionally involve a gathering of friends & family at the celebrant's home at the dinner table, followed by drinking and socializing, similarly to birthday celebrations. The song "Sto lat" is sometimes sung. Children, and often adults too, receive presents, just like on their birthday.
